The weather forecast had predicted intense storms coming in from the south. So I packed my gear and headed to the western part of the island. The sunsets are normally pretty intense at the extreme west of the island, but without clouds to provide context they can still be quite boring. While driving I could see the change in the weather. The sky was now littered with heavy and dense clouds. Over the horizon I could see the sun beginning to rest on the horizon. I was ready. My camera was prepped and I had already applied my filters. And then like a great ball of fire the sun hit the horizon casting brilliant hues of blue and red around the clouds. It was like a terrestrial supernova
At heart I am a story teller and a visual artist armed with a camera and a lens. I first developed a love for photography as young boy at my father's side. It was here that I came to understand the power of the photographic image. Its ability to be thought provoking, to bring inspiration and to challenge our concept of reality.
