Artist's Description
I was not sure if I wanted to get up very early in the morning and drive to to the coast. I set my alarm clock for 5:30 am and I left the house at 6:00am. According to forecast the sunrise was to take place at 6:40 am. When I arrived I felt raindrops and there was quite a lot of cloud cover. I had already awoken at 5:30 am so I ignored the rain drops. The tide was beginning to rise so I had to roll up my pants legs in order to capture the composition I had in mind. At 6:35 the sun began to peak over the horizon. I positioned my camera along with my ND filters and then I waited for about 30 seconds. After a little hesitation I took my shot as the tide began to rise.

At heart I am a story teller and a visual artist armed with a camera and a lens. I first developed a love for photography as young boy at my father's side. It was here that I came to understand the power of the photographic image. Its ability to be thought provoking, to bring inspiration and to challenge our concept of reality.
