These plovers are very timid and getting a good photo of them is always a challenge. To sneak this image I had to use the a nearby tree as cover. I had to put the camera in the silent shutter mode and I I got down on my stomach. I think the bird must have heard me because he looked directly at me. Fortunately he did not fly away. I switch the camera to manual mode because the light was consistent and soft. I then waited for the sea wave to splash against the rocks. I then took my shot.
At heart I am a story teller and a visual artist armed with a camera and a lens. I first developed a love for photography as young boy at my father's side. It was here that I came to understand the power of the photographic image. Its ability to be thought provoking, to bring inspiration and to challenge our concept of reality. My desire is to impact and inspire the viewers of my work. To encourage them to look beyond what they may see in their everyday lives. For me life is a journey through my lens.
